The Week in Review, Jan 26 - 30

Happy Friday Dolphin Families! We had a wonderful week of teaching and learning at The Creek! Students have been busy learning about penguin habitats, rocks and minerals, analogies, mixed numbers, problem and solution, and comparing numbers to 120, just to name a few. Phew! Have a great weekend of Sharpening your Saw and we will see you bright and early Monday morning!

Upcoming Events

February 2 - 6: Book Fair!
*We will be open daily 7:30 - 3:30. On Thurs, 2/5, we will be open until 7pm.

February 5: Black History Performance, 6:30 pm

A Message from Student Council:
From Monday, Feb. 2- Friday, Feb. 20, Rice Creek Student Council is sponsoring a Pennies for Patients fundraising campaign to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. On Monday, your child will bring home an individual collection box to begin collecting spare change from around your house. Once they've collected some money, they should bring it back to school to empty into their class' collection box. The class that collects the most money will get a party, sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. To help promote our cause, we are asking your child to participate in the following dress days:

-Tuesday, Feb. 3 Orange Out Against Leukemia (Orange Day)
-Wednesday, Feb. 4 Team Up Against Leukemia (Team Jersey Day)
-Thursday, Feb. 5 Crazy for a Cure (Crazy Sock Day)
-Friday, Feb. 6 Dolphins United For A Cause (Rice Creek Spirit Day)

To raise even more money for this worthy cause, Student Council will be preselling Valentine Grams the week of Feb. 2- 6 for $.50 each. These grams will consist of a handmade paper flower and a note. They can be purchased for Rice Creek students or even for someone at home. They Valentine Grams will be delivered to classrooms on Thursday, Feb. 12. All proceeds will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Thank you parents & students for helping out with such a great cause!
