The Week in Review

Today is Constitution Day!
228 years ago today, our founding fathers signed into effect the Constitution of the United States. On September 17, 1787, leaders of our country met in Philadelphia to agree on a set of rules for our country.
Did you know? Over 11,000 amendments have been proposed since 1789, but only 27 amendments have been added.
Our students have enjoyed studying the Constitution today, and a group of 5th graders even rewrote the Preamble in their own words.

If you would like to learn more about our Constitution, please visit

Habit 6 - Synergize

Two second grade students, pictured below, decided to check out the same Junie B. Jones book. When asked why, they responded, "We want to synergize and read the book together!"
What a great display of leadership from our young learners!

Ways to Benefit Our School!

If you are a Publix shopper, pick up an RCE/Publix Partners card in the RCE main office and simply scan it whenever you shop at Publix. Both stores donate back a portion of the RCE sales!

Also, we collect BoxTops and Coke Rewards! These can be dropped off in the Media Center.
All monies collected benefit our school!

7 Habit Spotlight

Habit 3: Put First Things First

We encourage students to put first things first in their academic life - homework before play. We focus on accomplishing the most important things before we relax. How can you apply this to your family's life? How are your priorities? Be sure to put the things you value the most first.

Great Read Alouds for Habit 3:
Wallace's Lists - Barbara Bottner
The Little Red Hen - Paul Galdone
The Hallelujah Flight - Phil Bildner
Lucky Beans - Becky Birtha
