The Week in Review

Today is Constitution Day!
228 years ago today, our founding fathers signed into effect the Constitution of the United States. On September 17, 1787, leaders of our country met in Philadelphia to agree on a set of rules for our country.
Did you know? Over 11,000 amendments have been proposed since 1789, but only 27 amendments have been added.
Our students have enjoyed studying the Constitution today, and a group of 5th graders even rewrote the Preamble in their own words.

If you would like to learn more about our Constitution, please visit

7 Habit Spotlight
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

Do you ever discuss what your child wants to be when they grow up? It may seem early for some students, especially kindergartners, but thinking about your end goal makes planning the steps easier. Begin having these discussions with your child; you may find their answers intriguing!
Remember, you are your child's biggest cheerleader - encourage them to set and achieve goals, then celebrate!

Recommended read alouds:
The Very Busy Spider, Eric Carle
Someday, Eileen Spinelli
Galimoto, Karen Williams
When I Grow Up, Al Yankovic
Wallace's Lists, Barbara Bottner
