Spring Pictures

 

On Wednesday, April 8th, Strawbridge Photographers will be here to take our student's Spring Pictures. These pictures will be on an approval basis.  You may look at the pictures and buy the whole package or buy by the sheets.  A price list sheet will be enclosed.  If you do not want the pictures,  they will need to be returned to the school.  We are excited about Strawbridge coming because they always do a great job working with our students.

The Week In Review, March 16-20

We are pleased to announce we have several students whose art is being showcased at the Columbia Mall! Please take the time this weekend to stop by and view it. The show ends on March 23. 

We would also like to recognize our students who competed in the Dodgeball Competition. The kids had a great time and earned 2nd place!

Parents,

We know there has been sickness going around and you may have forgotten to send in the excuses
needed for your child. Attendance letters are sent home every Thursday in your child’s communication folder.  If you receive one of these letters, please check your child’s parent portal account to see the dates needing an excuse and send in the needed excuse, either medical or parental the next day. Once a student has 5 or more unverified or 3 scattered unverified, they are considered truant which will require an Attendance Intervention Plan meeting.  It could also be referred to the Family Court System.

 Please send any needed excuses for your child to clear their attendance.

Our car rider line begins at 7:15am. Please remember to stay in your vehicles until 7:15 am to ensure the safety of our children.

With all the changes in temperatures and our wacky weather, please remember to dress your students appropriately and wash, wash, wash those hands!

Student Learning:

Parents of 5th graders,
Recently your child attended an in-school performance of the Richland Two middle school bands , choruses, and orchestras. Students learned about the instruments and programs offered to rising 6th graders at our District Two middle schools.  

Each student received a brochure with an interest form attached for you to sign and return to your child's elementary music teachers.  

During March, we celebrate music in our schools month and we use this time as our "signing days" for students to begin their musical education in the 6th grade.  If your son or daughter is interested in joining band, chorus, or orchestra when they enter 6th grade, please turn in the interest form as soon as possible.
