Important News & Celebrations:

We had an amazing Showcase of Student Learning Day on Thursday, May 21. We would like to thank all those that visited including district personnel, parents, and other distinguished guests. We are so proud of all our leaders that were able to present - we had a piano player, a TaeKwonDo master, reader leaders, and more! Let's help spread the word that Rice Creek Leads Today and Learns Today!

Congratulations to our 2015 District Champions! Our Reader's Challenge team won the district competition on May 13. Go reader leaders!

Congratulations to Jake Boozer, a third grade student. His artwork was chosen by Dr. Hamm to be a permanent part of the Superintendent collection. Go Jake!

Counselor's Corner

On Saturday August 8^th, The Cooperative Ministry, The Columbia Housing Authority and The City of Columbia will host a School Supply Drive at Finlay Park.  School aged children from Richland School Districts one and two that attend the event will receive FREE school supplies, backpacks and more!

Entertainment, snacks and other give away items will also be provided. Businesses and organizations will be present to offer information on local services.

In SC, 44% of families with children under age 18 experience poverty, this event will assist children start the school year with proper supplies.

The Week in Review, May 4-8

We had a great week of learning and leading at the Creek. Thank you to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade families for your flexibility and cooperation during ACT and SCPASS testing. We are so proud of our students!

 We would like to wish all the special women out there a happy Mother's Day. We hope you have a great weekend filled with love and family!

Spring Pictures

Spring Pictures are in!

Your student has a packet with an enclosed envelope for anything you would like to purchase. Please use the envelope to send your money back to the school by Friday, May 8th. 

If you choose not to purchase the pictures, please return the entire packet by the same date, Friday, May 8th. 

Midlands Gives

This Tuesday, May 5, will be Midlands Gives night at Buffalo Wild Wings. On this date, 10% of all sales will go towards summer scholarships for students around the Midlands area. Our Campus Director will be at the Two Notch location, meeting and greeting families and informing them of the summer program, along with the Boys & Girls Club of the Midlands CEO Carter Clark. Please come help us support our community!
